Tiger Woods this past week joined the PGA Tour fall serious for the event held in San Jose, Calif. However, his 30th place finish wasn't much compared to Bryce Molder who was the winner over Brinny Baird in a playoff.
Up in Houston, Brad Faxon faxed in his first champions tour win. On the LPGA Tour Yani Tseng won over in Korea. Also, winning in Korea was Ricky Fowler. He won the Korean Open. This was his first win a s professional winning on the Asian Tour.
Kristina Kim also was a winner last week. She won on the Ladies European tour in Italy. On the Nationwide tour Miguel Carballo came out on top in a wild final day at Children's Hospital in Chattanooga, Tenn., making three eagles in a final-round 64 for his first win since 2007.
In local golf news: The UTPA Women's Golf Team Played their first event of the year. The results were courtesy of the UTPA Sports information department.
TULSA, Oklahoma- The University of Texas-Pan American (UTPA) women's golf team completed their first tournament of the 2011 fall schedule with a 12th place finish Tuesday at the 2011 Bob Hurley Oral Roberts University Shootout, at Meadowbrook Country Club in Tulsa.
The Broncs finished nine strokes better than Drake University, and 27 strokes better than Stephen F. Austin. The Broncs three-round team total was 980, six strokes behind Southern Utah (974)??.
Kaitlin Hovda penciled in the lowest score on the Broncs cards this afternoon with an eight-over par 80. Majo Camey, who had the best three-round total for the Broncs, shot 81 on Tuesday and finished in a tie for 31st overall with her total of 239. Camey and Samantha Garcia had the best single round scores for UTPA.
Camey's 76 came in the opening round, while Garcia turned in her 76 after round two.??Garcia finished 43rd with her total of 244, while Hovda finished four strokes behind her with a 248 and a 51st place finish.
Elena Arroyo tallied a 256 while Blake Peterson chalked up a 258 over the three rounds.
Redlands Community College took the team championship with a three round total of 921. They finished just two strokes better than Arkansas State University who came into the clubhouse with a total of 923. UTEP was third at 927 while Lamar finished fourth at 928.
Jessica Schiele of Oklahoma City University shot a two-over par 73 on Tuesday to finish one stroke better than four other players to take home the individual title. Elcin Ulu (Redlands CC), Brittany Atterbury (N. Iowa), Sara Schober (Redlands CC), and Shang Huang (UTEP), tied for the runner up spot with a three round total of 224.
The Broncs will have a tournament two weeks in a row as next week the Broncs travel to Huntsville, TX to participate in the Harold Funston Invitational hosted by Sam Houston State University. The tournament begins with 36-holes on Monday October 10th. The third and final round kicks off on Tuesday October 11th. Both days begins with shotgun starts of 8:30 AM.

This weeks tip of the week is a result of giving myself a lesson. I found myself getting to my left side and as a result I was pull hooking the ball. If this is your issue try what I did to fix it. Try feeling your right foot staying on the ground a second longer. This will keep you from moving to your left side to early and pulling the ball.
