It's another beautiful week in the Rio Grande Valley . . .
Recently attended a fun gathering of fellow Rio Grande Valley Texas A&M Aggies, held at Bad Bob's BBQ in McAllen. Saw lots of maroon on folks like Fernando Perez, Omar DeLeon, Erin & Eugene Palacios and Laura Caballero. Also seen were Veronica Porras, Lacy Dolsen, Andrew Pape, TJ Perez, Rebekah Solis, Omar Cavazos, Pedro Ayala, Jeff Taylor, David Guerra, T Hinojosa, Katy Pena and many more. Also, I must say that Bad Bob's is home of the best pulled pork and potato salad, as well as many other goodies-in my humble opinion, an awesome eatery!
Shared a great lunch and yummy sweet potato fries with longtime friend and superwoman, April Chapa recently at Smashburger in McAllen. :)
Enjoyed a breezy summer evening in Mission for the Police Department's "National Night Out" event, where I represented the American Cancer Society and provided information on the many local patient services available for those diagnosed with cancer, as well as information about cancer prevention and awareness. Loved seeing familiar faces out and about, including Eva Rodriguez, Lindslee Brunson, Juan Morales, Matt Ruszczak, Kevin Sparks, Roy Pollard and so many more. Congratulations to the Mission Police Department on organizing such a fantastic event!

Events you should know about...
Tomorrow, August 11th: RGV Cancer180 Mixer - Roosevelt's in McAllen, from 6pm until 9pm. "Because when cancer strikes, life does a 180. For young adults, it can seem like the loneliest time of life. Cancer180 provides a social environment where young adult patients, survivors, caregivers, family and friends in their 20s & 30s can connect with other young adults affected by cancer. The simple goals of this group are to connect and support in a purely social environment every other month. Cancer180 is a part of the Anderson Network of MD Anderson Cancer Center, a group of programs that provide hope, support and understanding."
Appetizers will be provided and more information will be available about the Cancer180 group. Bring a friend and learn more about what you can do to support friends and loved ones affected by cancer!
I wish you love & blessings in the coming week and I hope to "see you" soon!
