It's another beautiful week in the Rio Grande Valley . . .
Recently bid a fun farewell to Gretchen Kreidler with a going-away party at Roosevelt's in McAllen. Gretchen accepted a great new job in San Antonio and will certainly be missed in the RGV! Seen throughout the evening were Kay & John Kreidler, Kelly & Brian Payne, Linda & Robert Heard, Kevin Collier, Jennifer Loftin, Jana & Blaine Hendrick, Stephanie & Richard Moore, Pam Simpson, Erren Seale & Fernando Rivera, Anna & Mike Martin, William Kreidler, Kelsey & Teddy Martin, Janey & Trey Murray and Allen Gray, just to name a few. Gretchen, this is not goodbye, but instead: see you up the road!!
Attended the fabulous Cancer180 Survivor Symposium in Edinburg, held at the UT-Pan American Border Health Offices in Edinburg. This event served as a fantastic outlet for learning/growing for young cancer survivors, their family and friends. Organizations represented included the Livestrong Foundation, The Cancer Center at Renaissance, MD Anderson Cancer Center and the National Library of Medicine. For more information on this program and the local meet-up group, visit facebook.com/cancer180rgv.
Got to visit with Marianna Wright and Matt Crocker at a lunch meeting the other day...
If you haven't already heard, Matt is now working with the Killer Bee Hockey Team as the Director of Ticket Operations. He is definitely your go-to guy for great seats at those super-fun Bee games!
Marianna tells me that the Mission Hospital Foundation and Breast Imaging Center is currently challenging individuals and businesses, as well as service organizations and civic clubs, to decorate bras for a cause in The Pink Brazaar! From August 22nd until September 23rd, decorated bras can be dropped off at the hospital along with a registration form that can be downloaded off their website-www.thepinkbrazaar.org. Participation is free and open to everyone. For more info, call 956-323-1102.
