Building relationships requires all concerned to be trustworthy and forthright. This need for everyone to be totally honest runs throughout the entire team on both sides of the relationship and you and your clients are on the same team.
On May 6, 1954, Roger Bannister ran a mile in under four minutes. The previous fastest time was four minutes and three seconds. Barrister became the first person to ever run a mile in under four minutes, a feat that has previously eluded the best runners in the world.
Most high achievers are self indulgent. They think they are special and they intentionally behave in a manner that eliminates any doubt about their high self image. Good for them. A high dose of self esteem is required.
The very essence of selling is, "Helping the right people at the right time make the right informed decision." You cannot build your business based on what you think, but you can build a very successful business based on what you know. Gathering the right information (the facts) from your prospects and clients regarding their needs should be a very enjoyable and valuable exercise. The right information is that set-of-facts you must know in order to make the right recommendations.
Recently I was had the honor and privilege of serving on a panel of judges, to select the recipient of The Youth of The Year Award given by The Boys & Girls Club. In order to be considered and nominated for the award, each candidate needed to consistently demonstrate to the staff at the clubs, commendable behavior and qualities regarding; home and family, moral character, community involvement, school and service to club.
We are all the net-result of the choices we make. Each and every day we have the opportunity to make choices and the life we live is going to be determined, in large part, by the result of those decisions.
The great barrier coral reef is one on the most incredible places in the world. Located off of the coast of Australia the reef stretches for over 1,500 miles! The coral reef is longer than the Great Wall of China and the only living thing on earth visible from space.
There is more than one way to do things, but more often than not, there is one way that is better than all of the others.

When team members are failing to meet expectations or to grow, there are five questions that can be asked, by the individual themselves or by their supervisors. More often than not, the questions need to be asked by the supervisor. Once the answer is achieved, the root cause must then be addressed in order to take immediate and strategic corrective action.
Often the most simple words are the most meaningful. All too often we get so wrapped up in what we are doing to move the business forward we forget to consider the considerable contributions of all of the people around us.
In a restaurant, trying something new is perfectly acceptable. You may like it and add it to your must have list or you may not like it and never order it again. Either way, you know.
A good friend of mine was in the sales business. At the time of this story he shared with me, he was in the advertising sales business working at a newspaper where his Father was the editor.
I am in the newspaper business. My career in this fantastic business started a long time ago, selling advertising for a daily newspaper with a circulation of 16,000. When I began, the only thing I knew about newspapers was that I read one every day. I still do.
We all know talented people. Some of us know exceptionally talented people. We ourselves, may be exceptionally talented. Talent in and of itself is a gift and should be categorized as such. Talent-alone is not what your are going to need to get you where you want to go.
