The McAllen Memorial Library at 601 North Main Street in McAllen will host First-time Homebuyer Class on April 24 beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Each class includes materials in English and Spanish and is offered free of charge to the public. Seating is limited. Please register in advance by calling 682-4318 and asking for Jesica. Participants should sign up for only one session.

First-time Homebuyer Classes consist of 6 to 8 hours of direct education relating to the homebuying process. Topics include budgeting, credit reports, shopping for a home, obtaining a loan and closing. The curriculum was developed by Fannie Mae and refined by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling. Each instructor has been trained and certified by the Texas Department of Housing as an approved homebuyer education provider. The classes will be presented by Consumer Credit Counseling Services of South Texas.
