Upper Valley Art League is having a unique event in September and we want you to be a part of this show. We call the show “Green,” and we want you to create an artwork or installation that is your interpretation of what it means to be involved in the effort to “reduce, reuse and recycle.”
As an artist, how do you express your concern for our world and the future?
Do you feel a special connection to the natural materials that surround you?
Are you personally and/or artistically working on your environmental footprint?
If you are interested in being a part of this show in September, please e-mail or write the Upper Valley Art League with a short description of your artwork (approximate size, media, category) so we can reserve a spot for you. We strongly urge each artist to write an artist’s statement to be displayed with your artwork. Your membership must be current ($2 yearly fee) for you to participate.
The opening reception will be Sept. 12 with live entertainment and refreshments from 6 to 9 p.m. at our newly remodeled Kika de la Garza Fine Arts Center. All artwork must be delivered to the site by Sept. 8, 2009 (please check gallery hours listed below) and installations will be set up by appointment.
