Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) swore in 13 new CASA/GAL volunteers on Sept. 22.

CASA of Hidalgo County Inc. is a non-profit organization that plays a vital role in the lives of abused and neglected children from our community. CASA/GAL volunteers are court appointed to speak on behalf of the best interest of children, when they are brought before the courts.

CASA's primary goal is to serve as fact finders for the court by researching each assigned case and report all findings to ensure a safe, permanent, and nurturing home for children. CASA/GAL volunteers become the one constant figure in the child's life when they are going through the child welfare system.
