Quinta Mazatlan is excited to offer the Junior Master Gardner (JMG) program, which began this year; this is a unique and exciting program that helps to develop the future stewards of the land by igniting a passion for outdoors! Participants are involved in a hand-on activities, guided trail walks and gardening at Quinta Mazatlan.

On Saturday, May 15, from 2 to 4 p.m. gardeners will learn about incredible adaptations animals and insects use as protection from predators.

In the classroom, participants will be engaged in a hands-on learning activity where they will become familiar with the many “great cover up” techniques. Outdoor, participants will explore the trails and the gardens uncovering “masters of disguise” with hand lenses.

Participants are advised to bring a snack, refillable water bottle, gloves, and should come dressed for the weather and gardening. Parents are encouraged to apply bug repellent and sunscreen before arriving to the center.

Program fee is $5 for each individual month. Please call and register in advance with the Education Supervisor. Materials are only available to those who register in advance. Payment can be made on the day of the program. For more information contact Quinta Mazatlan at 956-681-3370 or visit www.quintamazatlan.com.
