This summer, Mark Hitchings, son of Brian Hitchings and Lesley Hitchings of Mission, will be traveling with the National Geographic Student Expedition to Ecuador and the Galapagos Islands for a summer program that focuses on photojournalism and nature photography. Photography first peaked senior Mark Hitchings’s interest when he was a freshman. Since then, he has gotten a Nikon D40X 10.2 mega pixel camera that he uses to take professional quality pictures. Mark enjoys taking pictures at Bentsen State Park and Santa Anna Wildlife Refuge. His pictures can be seen on display at the Sharyland High School library until March 13.
