The Food Bank RGV is grateful to the UTPA Fine Arts Department for opening their doors yet again to host the annual Empty Bowls Throw-A-Thon. Volunteers with or without pottery experience are invited to join in on some fun for a great cause! Members of the community are being asked to get their hands a little muddy and create one of a kind bowls for the Food Bank RGV’s 6th annual Empty Bowls luncheon and silent auction.

All bowls created by the community will be donated to this very special event. Snacks and drinks will be served and pottery wheels will start spinning on Saturday, April 17, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the UTPA Fine Arts Annex, professors and art students will be on hand to teach different ceramic techniques. Don’t miss out on this great opportunity to get creative and give back!

Empty Bowls will take place on Sept. 24 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Pharr International Convention Center. An array of some of the valley’s best food will be served, also live music, and a silent auction will be held. Each guest will have the opportunity to choose a unique handmade bowl to serve as a reminder that there is always an Empty Bowl in RGV.
