Surely we were all happy for this man! Think happy thoughts for South Dakota rancher Neal Wanless, who recently won a multi-million dollar jackpot. Couldn’t be a better story — he lives with his parents near Mission, South Dakota, in a very poor county, and says “. . . I will not squander it.” May he do more with his new millions than many of the sports and rock stars!

Birthday cheer for yesterday goes to neighbor Mary Joe Tansel, Linda Miller, Lupe Weir, Kay Kreidler, Meagan Sullivan, and Clark Spikes, Jr. . .

A happy birthday for today is wished to Gary Chauvin, from your wife, family and grandkids who love you dearly. Also for today, happy birthday to Dr. Jacobo Hohenstein, Denise Garcia, Victoria Labus, Tricia Skalitsky, and Jim Henderson . . .

And a happy Father’s Day coming up to all of the wonderful dads here in the Valley. (Don’t make them barbeque unless they want to!)
