All the way from the sandy beaches of South Padre Island, Captain Crab and the Clean Beach Patrol are coming to Quinta Mazatlan, the McAllen Wing of the World Birding Center for a fun and exciting puppet show during Family Evening Explorations on Thursday June 25 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.

Captain Crab and his friends, Antonio the Pirate, Sally the Sea Gull, Sasha the Sea Turtle, Diego the Dolphin and Patrick the Pelican will show families the importance of helping to keep our beautiful beaches clean! Trash our Beach; Pay the Price.

You could pay fines up to $2,000 for trashing our beach. Please don’t litter.

Kids can take Captain Crab’s “Deputy Beach Patrol Pledge” to do their part to keep the beaches and ocean free from litter that could hurt both wildlife and humans. Items such as bottles, cans, plastic and other trash items find its way into the ocean and eventually into the bellies of sea turtles and other marine animals.

The Captain Crab and Beach Patrol Puppet Show is sponsored by the Valley Proud Environmental Council, a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving the natural beauty of the Rio Grande Valley.

Bring the entire family for a fun summer outing in McAllen’s big backyard! This is the perfect time for families to spend some quality time together while learning about animals, birds, plants and nature. Join Quinta Mazatlan Thursday evenings throughout the summer for a new and interesting topic each week including art, birds, bats, owls and more.

Family Evening Explorations is hosted by Quinta Mazatlan and the City of McAllen Parks and Recreation Department. The series is generously sponsored by Freels Orthodontics and New York Life Insurance every Thursday evening through August 8.
