The May meeting of Mission Damas Catolicas was held at St. Paulís Catholic Church hall on May 12. The meeting was called to order by the president Norma Davis who introduced a special guest, Monsignor Luis Javier Garcia. He is the director of Saint Joseph and Saint Peter seminary in Mission. He spoke about the seminary, the seminarian program and the seminariansí from the Diocese of Brownsville who will be ordained priests this month. He is also the director of the deaconate program of the Diocese of Brownsville.
The minutes and roll call were read by the secretary Herman Hernandez and the financial report was given by the treasurer Irma Perez. Refreshments were served by the hostesses Sara Valdez, Herman Hernandez, Sylvia Wolf, Odilia Davis and Margarita Ramirez.
In charge of the program were Norma Davis, Sara Valdez, and Sylvia Wolf. It consisted of praying the rosary and each member present offered a rose to Our Lady of the Holy Rosary, an old Mexican catholic tradition of offering flowers to Our Blessed Mother during the month of May. After discussing old and new businesses the meeting was adjourned.
