First United Methodist Church in McAllen has many special things planned for Holy Week and Easter, and we hope you will join us for any and all of these activities.

During Holy Week, April 6 through 10, we will offer Bible Studies each day during the lunch hour, from 12 to 1. The Bible Studies will be led by the pastors and staff of the church. There will be a catered lunch available for a donation.

On Thursday, April 9, the noon study will be our Silent Luncheon, with scripture readings and special foods. All Bible Studies will be held in the Social Room — signs will be posted!

On Thursday, April 9 at 7 p.m., there will be a Maundy Thursday service at 7 p.m. in the Worship Center. This service recounts the details of Jesus’ last moments before his arrest and crucifixion, and includes a candle ceremony and Holy Communion.

For Easter Sunday, April 12, there will be a 7 a.m. Sunrise Service on the Church Lawn, an 8:45 a.m. Traditional service, a 9 a.m. Contemporary Service with the First United Methodist Worship Band, and an 11 a.m. Traditional service with the Motet Choir. Complimentary Easter family photos will be taken before and after all services.
