The Chamber of Commerce and Alltell wireless will host the 9th Annual Presidentís Cup Gold Tournament to benefit the Top 25 performing students of the three McAllen High Schools, a total of 75 students with $1,000 scholarships will be given away in May.

The tournament is set for Friday, April 3 at Palm View Gold Course located on 2701 S. Ware Road in McAllen at 12:30 p.m. It will be an 18 hole, 3-player team, Florida Scramble with a starting field limited to 44 teams who will be competing for the number one spot.

Player registration will begin at 10 a.m. at the Palm View Golf Course; entry fee includes polo shirt, green fee, cart range, beverages and dinner.

Top 25 was established 24 years ago and have been awarding scholarships to the Top 25 students from each McAllen high schools for the past twelve years.

Gift certificates from Palm Valley Golf Shop will be awarded to the first place ($900), second place ($675), and third place ($525) place teams. Two Whole in One prizes will be given away, a trip for two to Waikiki, Hawaii for eight days and seven nights with airfare and hotel accommodations and a trip for two to Las Vegas for eight days and seven nights with airfare and hotel accommodations valued at $3,000 will also be given away.
