The Hidalgo County Bar Association (HCBA) and Hidalgo County Bar Foundation (HCBF) are proud to announce that Judge Mario E. Ramirez, Jr., has been selected to be the 5th recipient of the HCBA Lifetime Achievement Award.

For more than 26 years, Judge Ramirez has been the only presiding judge over the 332nd District Court and is the Senior Judge in Hidalgo County. He was also presiding judge from 1980-1981 of Hidalgo County Court at Law No. 2, and Assistant Municipal Court Judge for the City of McAllen, from 1976 — 1980.

Judge Ramirez received his J.D. from St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, and obtained his undergraduate degree in business administration from the University of Notre Dame, South Bend, Indiana. His high school alma mater is Rio Grande City High School. Judge Ramirez is married to Noelia Ramirez and they have three children and a new granddaughter.
