Two PSJA Memorial High School Seniors were selected as Gates Millennium Scholars this year. Edgar D. Solis and Alyssa Dorado are two out of 1,000 students selected for this honor. As Gates Millennium Scholars, they will now have funds available to attend any U.S. accredited college or university of their choice. As well as be eligible for a fellowship funding their education through the masterís and doctoral levels. According to Vera Boda, PSJA Memorial HS financial aid officer, these students have strong leadership skills; devote their time to provide community service; and have academic achievements that have distinguished them as Leaders for Americaís Future. These students will also be graduating with an Associateís Degree in Engineering from South Texas College before they graduate from high school this year.

They are participating in the Dual Enrollment Engineering

Academy, for juniors and seniors seriously interested in pursuing a career

in Engineering.

Both students are planning to attend Texas A&M University this Fall.
