The United Way of South Texas Board of Directors thanks Wal-Mart Employees for their commitment and support to the community.† Wal-Mart is one of the Top 10 local investors in the United Way.

Wal-Mart Employees and the corporation pledged more than $153,000 in 2010.† The Campaign was coordinated by the Human Resources team in each store in Hidalgo and Starr Counties: Mary Woodruff, Weslaco, Belia Garza, Alamo, Lorenzo Rodriguez and Maribel Ryan, Samís Club, Martha Mercado, McAllen (Jackson Rd.), Carmen Garcia and Isabel Garza, McAllen (Nolana Ave.), Rene Torres, Edinburg (University Dr.), Austin Atkinson and Joshua Martinez, Edinburg (S. McColl), Irma Taballas, Mission, Elias Valverde, Palmhurst, Irma Ocana, Penitas, Bill Schumacher, Rio Grande City.

Wal-Mart and Samís Club are also the first company to officially kick-off their 2011-2012 Campaign.
