Join in praying the Stations of the Cross through downtown McAllen this Friday Good Friday April 10 from noon until about 2:30 p.m. beginning and ending in Archer Park in McAllen.

This prayer emphasizes how the sufferings of Jesus continue today in the lives of the people and oppressed, through sickness, unemployment, AIDS, addictions, violence, homelessness, the death penalty, and war. Participants will take turns carrying a large cross as the group wends its way through the downtown, stopping at fourteen places, depicting the 14 Stations of the Cross.

One of the stations is the food pantry at Sacred Heart Parish. Please bring canned goods, rice or beans to donate to the food pantry.

Bring water and wear comfortable shoes. This is an excellent way for the family to pray together and remember the sufferings of Jesus on this holy day.

Sponsored by the Holy Spirit Peace and Justice Committee.
