Former UTPA president Dr. Blandina Cardenas was the keynote speaker at a banquet honoring graduates of Leadership Edinburg Class XX, which took place on Wednesday May 27 at the Echo Hotel and Conference Center. At the event Cardenas said leaders who make a difference lead with a powerful sense of urgency, and it is urgent that the class exercise leadership in the community. “We are living in a transnational existence… of diversity,” she said. “And we know how to do it better than anyone else.” The group of 18 graduates joins more than 400 Leadership Edinburg alumni found in all aspects of the community.
