Ten tenth-graders at South Texas Academy of Business, Education & Technology Academy (BETA) received the “Texas Student Achievement Award” from the Texas ACT Council for their performance on the Pre-ACT (PLAN) assessment. PLAN is a powerful predictor of success on the American College Test (ACT) and college readiness.

The BETA sophomores to receive this honor were Luis Alvarez of Edinburg, Diana De Anda of McAllen, Jose C. Martinez of Donna, Miguel Martinez of Edinburg, Daniel Montes of Pharr, Alejandro Montez of Edinburg, Jon Nutt of McAllen, Luis Sanchez of Edinburg, Luke Skipping of Edinburg and Andrea Soliz of San Juan.

The Texas ACT Council is made up of secondary and post-secondary educators who advise ACT on the utilization of ACT programs and services in Texas schools and colleges.
