The Friends of the Edinburg Public Library cordially invites the community to attend their Brown Bag Luncheon and Special Christmas Program to be held at 12 noon on Monday, Dec. 6, at the Dustin Michael Sekula Memorial Library.
This month’s Special Christmas Presentation is the Glory Bell Players directed by Lois Kildahl from the First United Methodist Church. The Glory Bell Players is a 10-member group and each member plays from two to five hand-held bells. The group plays Christmas carols and during the performance the audience is encourage to sing along.
Plus enjoy some tasty Holiday wassail and while you are at it be sure and sign the “Right to Literacy” Scroll. This scroll stresses the importance of the fundamental right that all citizens of this country should be able to read and write. The scroll with over a million signatures will be sent to President Obama to make him aware of the people’s right to Literacy.
The Friends of the Library is a private, nonprofit organization committed to the support of the Sekula Memorial Library through advocacy, volunteerism and giving that impact the lives of the people of Edinburg and the Rio Grande Valley. Anyone interested in joining the Friends of the Edinburg Public Library is encouraged to attend the upcoming Brown Bag Luncheon.
