If you want to find out how the proposed new zoning plan for McAllen would affect your neighborhood, you'll have a chance to ask city staffers about it this Wednesday afternoon.
The Planning Department will present the proposed new zoning planned, called the McAllen Development Code, so the public can look it over and ask questions of city staffers as well as make comments, too.
The meeting is from 4-6 p.m. today, Wednesday, in City Commission Chambers, 1300 Houston Ave. That's between Main and Broadway.
There will be more formal public hearings but today offers everyone a chance to take a look at the plan and discuss with the experts how it would affect your part of town and how the city will implement it, if the city commission adopts it.
The McAllen Development Code is intended to put into action the vision for McAllen laid out in Foresight McAllen, which FUTURO McAllen helped write.
FUTURO McAllen urges everyone to take the time to discuss with experts informally how the new code would work and affect our city.
