The Edinburg Chamber of Commerce has confirmed DUELO as the headlining musical act for Saturday, Feb. 28, at the Edinburg Municipal Park for Fiesta Edinburg.

The 2009 theme for Fiesta Edinburg is “Safari.” The traditional fiesta parade will be brightly decorated following a fun “Safari” theme for families to enjoy; local vendors are also encouraged to follow the same theme.

Fiesta Edinburg will take place Feb. 26 through March 1 at the Edinburg Municipal Park. The festival will kick off with the Heart of America Carnival on Thursday, Feb. 26 for $5 all you can ride, and end on March 1, (all other days regular price) live music from Rap/Hip Hop artists on Feb. 27 and 28, featuring DUELO.

The “Safari” parade will fall on Saturday, Feb. 29, beginning at the Hidalgo County Courthouse going South on Closner, ending at Cats Stadium.

Fiesta Edinburg is a FREE, outdoor family event, with $5 parking.

Duelo

Mexican singer/songwriter Oscar Trevino started playing along with accordionist Dimas Lopez in a duo called Duelo Norteno. They were joined by drummer Juan Barrera, bassist Cristian Rivera, and percussionist Edgar Rodriguez soon after.

Duelo became involved in the Mexican/regional music scene with the international release of the band’s debut album, titled El Amor No Acaba, featuring the hit single “Amiga Soledad” courtesy of All Music Guide
