What a jolly time! Santa made a very special pre-Christmas stop at Edinburg Children’s Hospital on Dec. 11 to visit with patients, families, visitors and employees.

He arrived by helicopter courtesy of Valley Air Care and made his landing on the north east lawn of Edinburg Children’s Hospital, but not before making a fly by the patient’s room windows for all to see.

The KRGV News Channel 5 team arrived with Santa to distribute gifts to the pediatric patients in the hospital.

The student choir from E. B. Guerra Elementary School in Edinburg was also present and sung a chorus of traditional carols to add to the holiday spirit.

Santa joined the children shouting a big “Ho ho ho!” as the choir entertained spectators in the children’s hospital lobby.

KRGV news anchor Letty Garza andweatherman Tim Smith assisted the South Texas Health System elves in delivering Santa’s gifts and the true joy of Christmas was seen glistening on the eyes of the young and old.
