The City of Edinburg, Department of Solid Waste Management, will be collecting Christmas trees from residents. The collection will start Jan. 5 and continue through Jan. 23 on brush collection days.

Edinburg Residents are urged to place their Christmas trees next to the curb for collection. Trees must be free of decorations, tinsel, flocking and stands. Flocked trees should be placed with regular brush for collection.

The collected trees will be recycled into pine mulch and will be made available to the public. For information on Christmas Tree Collection please call the Department of Solid Waste Management at 381-5635.

The City of Edinburg would also like to encourage residents to recycle all wrapping paper, Christmas cards, cardboard boxes, newspaper, magazines/books, computer paper, aluminum cans, tin cans and plastics #1 & #2.

Items may be dropped off at the Recycling Center located at 3102 S. Bus. 281. The Center is open Monday thru Friday 8 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. For more information on Recycling please call 292-2133.
