McALLEN – The McAllen Chamber of Commerce has studios available for rent at the Creative Incubator.
The Creative Incubator is a venue that offers low cost studios for aspiring artists. The Incubator is meant to foster the creativity of the tenants and provide emerging artists and organizations with managerial, legal and technical support. The goal of the Creative Incubator is to support the continued professional growth of artists in order to enhance the cultural and economic vitality of our community.
The McAllen Creative Incubator is located at 1001 S. 16th Street. Interested parties are required to fill out an application, give three references and submit to a back ground check. Then the prospective tenant will meet with a representative of the McAllen Chamber of Commerce who will help the chosen applicants file a business plan.
"The stepping stone we provide aims to encourage the use of art space as a base from which artists and the arts in general can flourish while giving the public access to exhibitions, performances and associated events." said Jamie Tabak, Cultural Arts Director for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and Director of the Incubator. "I look forward to filling these studios with new artists and introducing them to the other Tenants at the Incubator as soon as possible."
"We strive to develop an atmosphere where the tenants and staff work together to keep each other focused on their artistic endeavors while creating a unique, family like atmosphere." said Tabak. "The goal of the Incubator is to support the continued professional growth of artists and enhance the cultural and economic vitality of our community."
