EDINBURG -- University Theatre Productions present the side-splitting comedy – The Nerd.  It will run April 27 through April 30 at 8 p.m. and May 1 at 2 p.m.

The performances will be at the Albert L. Jeffers Theatre in the Communication Arts & Sciences Building on the corner of University Drive and Sugar Road.

This hilarious Larry Shue play was first produced at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre, from which it went on to successful runs on the West End and Broadway.  Its action centers on Willum  Cubbert, a young architect who, on his 34th birthday, is visited by Rick Steadman. In short order, Rick, an unbelievably obtuse "nerd," upends Willum's life, threatening his relationships, his home, and even his livelihood. By the end of the play, Willum is driven to desperate measures and the audience to a satisfying and unexpected ending.

Reserve seating - $12.00, general admission - $8.00, non UTPA students with school ID - $3.00 and UTPA students/faculty/staff one free admission with valid UTPA ID plus one FREE guest.  No children below the third grade will be admitted.

The box office opens one hour prior to each performance.  For reservations or more information you may call the University Theatre Box Office at 956-665-3581.
