The Latin American Foundation for the Arts, a nonprofit organization presents the second edition of FeIPoL (Festival Internacional de Poesía Latinoamericana) to be taken place October 5-7, 2017 at the Cooper Center in McAllen.

The festival is extending the call for submissions for all poets interested in participating to February 17. All they have to do is visit, read the instructions, fill out the form and submit.

The call for submissions for high school poets will close February 28. Last year, nine high schools from the RGV and Reynosa participated with a total of 124 young poets.

This year’s honored poets include Elizabeth Acevedo USA/Dominican Republic, Jorge Cocom Pech, Mayan Nation/Mexico, Rigoberto Gonzales USA/Mexico, and Jorge Galán, El Salvador. We have a very special poet joining us, who will be announce later in the year.

The festival, founded by Rossy Evelin Lima and Gerald Padilla, was a success with our RGV community, bringing 44 poets from Latin America and the US, with over a thousand people in attendance during the three days and the participation of the US Poet Laureate Juan Felipe Herrera.
