McALLEN - The City of McAllen announced the eighth season of Sunset Live which kicks off Saturday, April 8 at 5 p.m. at Oval Park - just outside of the McAllen Convention Center.
The series, which has hosted 26 concerts since the first season in 2013, is quickly becoming the leader in outdoor live music, with an average of 6,000 attendees to date and growing.
This season promises to exceed expectations.
With about a dozen regional and national bands that range in style from Indie to Blues playing on one stage, Sunset Live packs plenty of entertainment in one season.
The main attraction (as usual) is a diverse music lineup, which begins with Nashville singer-songwriter Tim Gonzalez, followed by the folk-pop singer songwriter Priscilla Orfanos, the gritty alternative rock local band Sine Cura, the retro-styled rockin’ local blues quartet, Starlight Quartet, Latin pop and R&B artist Maria D’ Luz, and Latin pop-rock band Radical.
Sunset Live is about a lot more than great live music. This concert series combines stellar music, outdoor activities, regional food trucks, craft beer, wine, and artisans, creating one of the most popular music gatherings in the Valley.
Admission is free and the event is family and pet-friendly. Everyone is invited to bring a lawn chair, blankets and enjoy some music under the setting sun.
The 2017 spring season of Sunset Live wraps June 10.
