PHARR – Three school teams from Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD (PSJA) have the chance to compete in the world’s largest celebration of creativity after advancing to the
Destination Imagination (DI) 2017 Global Finals. The teams are from Sorensen Elementary, Yzaguirre Middle School and PSJA
Early College High School. All three teams competed in the Engineering Challenge category.
The Destination Imagination program is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students’ creativity, courage and curiosity through open-ended academic challenges in the fields of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), as well as, Fine Arts and Service Learning.
“It is an honor to have our district represented at the global level by such extraordinary students and staff,” said PSJA ISD Gifted & Talented Coordinator Noemi Serna. “Our teams have discovered the basics of hard work, determination, creativity and teamwork!”
