EDINBURG – The Edinburg Rotary recognized eight students recently from the Edinburg Consolidated Independent School District Early College High School Program during its luncheon meeting at the Echo Hotel in Edinburg.

“It’s really exciting to see our students be recognized by the Rotary Club,” said ECISD Advanced Academics Director Angelica Perez. “Listening to the students go up there and share a little bit about themselves was really special. I think it’s important that the Rotary hears that because we have some really impressive programs that are in our District. I think that the Early College High School Program is one of the top programs.”

The students’ recognition is part of the Edinburg Rotary’s Student of the Month Program, which highlights two senior students from each high school.

“Early College High School is a Program that is designed for students who are really focused and interested in their career and their life after high school,” Perez said. “A lot of our Early College High School students are already graduating with an associate’s degree or are on track to earn that associate’s degree.”
