The four-time state champion McAllen High Mariachi Oro will perform in their ninth annual McAllen High Mariachi Spectacular on Saturday, June 3.

“If you’re looking for the perfect way to kick off your summer, please join us at our McHi auditorium for a spectacular show that you do not want to miss,” Mariachi Instructor Alex Trevino said. “The concert features our four-time state champions along with the Grammy Award Nominated Spanish Pop Singer/Songwriter Elio and the talented Mariachi Estrellas del Valle. They are an up and coming professional All-Star group of high school and university students comprised of former and current McHi students as well as current and former students from districts across the Rio Grande Valley, UTRGV and UT Austin students.”

The McAllen High Mariachi Oro has had a highly successful year. They excelled at the TAME State Finals, State UIL Festival and TMEA Contests. Last summer, they even performed at the famous Hollywood Bowl.

Tickets are available at Melhart Music Center for $10 and at the door. Proceeds from the show will go towards supplies, instruments, equipment and a trip to the West Coast for student performance opportunities.

The concert will begin at 6:30 p.m. (doors will open at 6 p.m.) at the McAllen High auditorium (2021 La Vista Ave.). Children age six and under will be admitted free.
