PHARR - Jireh S. Cabello, an incoming senior at PSJA T. Jefferson T-STEM Early College High School is currently attending the Harvard Secondary School Program. The intensive seven-week program for high school students in Cambridge, Massachusetts runs from June 17 to August 5.

The Harvard Secondary School Program offers students the opportunity to be fully immersed in the college experience and to challenge themselves while earning college credits. Students can choose from more than 200 courses ranging from neuroscience, film, philosophy, creative writing and computer science, to name a few.

"Since I was a young girl a dream of mine has been to go to Harvard, not only to visit, but to study,” shared Cabello who is taking Microeconomics and Oral Expression: Español Hablado. “I am grateful for my PSJA administrators and teachers, without them this would not be possible...thank you!”

As part of PSJA ISD's Early College Program, Cabello plans to graduate in May 2018 with an Associate in Interdisciplinary Studies from South Texas College prior to her high school graduation. The inspiring student was also one of four juniors selected for the 2016 PSJA Summer Ivy League Tours to Washington University in St. Louis Missouri.
