McAllen Public Library, in partnership with Workforce Solutions, invites the public to Networking for the Future: Connect with Employers Saturday, Aug. 12 from 10AM to 2:00PM at the Main Library.
Attendees will get to connect with employers from over 30 different companies, fill out printed and online applications, and have onsite interviews. Attendees should bring updated resumes and dress interview ready.
Currently McAllen has an unemployment rate of 7.1 percent. Officials with the library hope the job fair will act as a “one-stop shop” for people to gather and network for the future, offering face-to-face communication with employers, a computer lab for online applications, and a centrally-located facility with public transportation accessible by McAllen Transit to empower the community.
“We are excited about our new partnership with Workforce Solutions because it will allow us to connect our patrons with employers,” said Kate Horan, Library Director. “We regularly see many individuals use our computers and other resources to look for employment. This event will combine the resources of both organizations to benefit job seekers, employers, and the entire community.”
The job fair will feature the following employers:
