Celebrate Texas Recycle Days on Saturday, November 18 with the City of McAllen Public Works Department from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

Visit the McAllen Recycling Center for educational recycling tours, tasty food and fun games throughout the morning for the entire family.

Attendees can also shop local eco-friendly vendors and take part in raffles and contests to win cool prizes, such as t-shirts and caps. Additionally, kiddos can tour the heavy equipment and snap a Selfie with Curby the Recycling Mascot.

The McAllen Recycling Center is located at 4101 N. Bentsen Road in McAllen.

The recycling center processes about 5,000 tons per year and energy saved by recycling one plastic bottle can power a computer for 25 minutes. Furthermore, one ton of recycled cardboard saves nine cubic yards of landfill space.
