ALAMO – PSJA Memorial Early College High School Senior Cristian Contreras recently competed at the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Area Competition on Saturday, Jan. 13 and has qualified for the competitive Texas All-State Choir.

The Texas All-State Choir is the highest honor a choir student can receive. Each year, the highest-ranking musicians judged at the TMEA Area competitions qualify to perform in a TMEA All-State music group. These All-State students participate in three days of rehearsals directed by nationally recognized conductors during the annual state TMEA Clinic/Convention in February.

While at PSJA ISD, Contreras has earned 20 college credit hours from South Texas College (STC) and plans to major in Music after graduation.
