Exhibiting from the Art Department from IDEA College Preparatory in Donna is Audrey Cisneros, Stacy Saenz, Anita Garay and Isaac Santiago. Audrey Cisneros shares cute and humorous characterizations of her South Texas culture through paper cutting and illustration. She hopes to convey a sense of appreciation for the little things that surround us on a daily basis and often get taken for granted. Illustrated characters show her sense of humor contrasted by the familiar and comforting repetition of Talavera and textile patterns she has loved since childhood. Stacy Saenz combines typography and relief printing in her newest series of motivational designs. Through her work she hopes to inspire others to explore and believe in the power of their own imagination. Anita Garay uses acrylics and inks to paint abstractions of color. She also finger paints with oils to create atmospheric perspective of clouds. Her artworks are impressions of her faith and personal freedom. Isaac Santiago’s work focuses on places and landscapes from his dreams. His perspective is based in his changing surroundings living in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Morelia Mexico, Corpus Christi, and McAllen, Texas.
Exhibiting from the Art Department from IDEA College Preparatory in Brownsville is Ana Henggeler.
Ana Henggeler uses nails as her "stippling" to create these three-dimensional drawings on wood. The imagery is all based on classic items that represent both of her grandmothers and their shared love of nature.
Exhibiting from the Art Department from IDEA College Preparatory in McAllen is Fany Mares and Edgar Rodriguez Tiburcio. Fany Mares style is based on expressionism…she’s interested in portraying emotions and the essence of things. Her work is characterized by the use of bold colors, rich texture, and flowing lines that represent the ever-moving energy she perceives in everything that surrounds us.
Edgar Rodriguez Tiburcio is a thespian and artist fascinated by the contrast and interconnectedness of visual art and theatre. His lifelong interest in creative problem solving and as a visual learning style has led him to communicate such solutions through performance, design, art and multimedia productions.
