Congratulations to five McAllen High Mariachi Oro members that were selected to be a part of the TMEA (Texas Music Educators Association) All-Region Mariachi Ensembles. The auditions took place April 21-22 at the La Joya ISD Performing Arts Center. They earned their spots in the Region XV ensembles, an elite All-Star group of the best of the best mariachi students in the most competitive region in the state. Additionally, McAllen High took three of the four vocal spots available for high school ensembles.

“We are extremely proud of all of our students as they took part in a day and a half of clinics with the highest level of music making,” McAllen High Mariachi Instructor Alex Trevino said. “The event culminated with a spectacular concert on Saturday night directed by renowned clinicians from Texas, California and México.”
