Get ready for another music festival, but not just any music festival. This week the McAllen Chamber of Commerce will present the two-day Another Music Festival in downtown McAllen.

The festival will run from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturday and 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sunday in the 17th Street Entertainment District of downtown McAllen.

The 2009 Another Music Festival schedule is available online at Daily grids will outline the 80-plus band set times and stages for the two-day event.

A few days from now, festival goers will take part in making history, organizers say. This is the first music festival of its kind in McAllen.

“We want to invite everyone to come out and experience AMF. Come support the music and the entertainment district. Eight bars will be hosting bands and four local, 17th Street restaurants will keep late hours to serve food. This is the place to be,” said Annabell Cortina, director of special events & media for the McAllen Chamber of Commerce and AMF Coordinator.

For all music lovers and/or those who want to enjoy two days of music, food, and fun, Another Music Festival will have something to offer. Although the public is encouraged to carpool, event parking will be available at the Downtown Parking Garage on 15th & Chicago.

Tickets for AMF are now on sale starting at $15 for a one-day pass, $25 for a two-day pass, and $40 for VIP. Tickets can be purchased online at, toll free at 1-877-993-8499, Wireless Toyz (Valley-wide), Melhart Music Center, Lionels Western Wear, Bull Rider Western Wear, and Polarisol (Reynosa).
