Our children are the future of America and the Boy Scouts throughout the world focus on instilling good traits and values in young men. They start working with them as young boys and continue their education and training throughout their teen years until they become young adults. There have been many elected officials and successful businessmen who were Boy Scouts.

Many have stated that it was their Boy Scout education that they accredit their success to. It is for this reason that the RGV Boy Scouts are hosting their 1st Annual Boy Scouts “Clasico” Golf tournament to help raise funds to support our Valley Boy Scouts and to help extend the scouting experience to more youth in our communities.

The 3-man team will be a Florida Scramble format with Hole-In-One prizes from Spikes Ford, Frank Smith Toyota/Hyundai, Harley Davidson and Clark Knapp Honda. Additional prizes will be for the closest to the Pin, Longest and Straightest Drive. Mulligan’s and Tiger Woods Drive will also be available for purchase at registration. One single digit handicap player will be allowed per team.

Sponsorships are available at $5,000, $4,000, $3,000 and $2,000. A 3-man team is $450. For more information on the tornament that is scheduled for Saturday, Dec. 11 at Los Lagos golf course in Edinburg. Call the Boy Scouts Council office at 423-0250.
