Edinburg approves ambulance

contract with Valley EMS

The Edinburg City Council approved a five-year contract with Valley EMS Inc. to provide emergency ambulance service for the city. Valley EMS Inc. has offered 911 ambulance service since 1982 in Edinburg. Their continued presence in the City of Edinburg ensures that our citizens receive proper response to emergency situations, according to the city.

City to purchase equipment for landfill

In the area of trash collection and landfill, the Edinburg council approved the purchase of seven pieces of equipment totaling just over $2 million. This new equipment will replace old and decaying equipment and help staff provide faster and more efficient collection and landfill services.

The Edinburg Landfill currently has contracts with the cities of San Juan, and McAllen as well as county precincts and two private firms.
