The Edinburg High School Dramaticats have wrapped up a successful production of “The Wedding Singer, The Musical Comedy.”

The young cast is to be commended for ably tackling a nearly two-hour musical production. Staged in the EHS Black Box Theater, the Saturday night crowd enjoyed the singing and dancing of the troupe.

Josh Kenney excelled in the title role and with his curly hair was reminiscent of Adam Sandler in the movie version.

Alex Villarreal and Josh Palacios as the other band members shined both in the music numbers and as comic actors.

Andrea Negrete in the lead female role charmed the audience with her voice and brought an air of innocence to the role. Madison Palomo as her friend Holly offered the needed contrast in the role.

Marco Munoz channeled the necessary smarminess for the role of a cad, while Lisa Marie Lopez was a convincing wannabe rock groupie.

Kathleen Kennedy charmed the audience with her turn as the grandmother and Alexandra Ortiz was solid in her supporting role.

The rest of the cast kept busy with costume and character changes portraying a variety of wedding goers and others. They all deserve recognition.
