Graduation congratulations to Valleyite Alyssa C. Rodriguez, who graduated magna cum laude from Texas A & M Kingsville with her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders on December 18, 2010. Her parents are Hector & San Juana Rodriguez, and her grandparents are (the late) Hector and Juanita Rodriguez of Edinburg, and Baltazar & Elisa Peña of San Benito . . .

Wedding best wishes go out to Nichole Mery & Grant Peisen, who were married on Saturday, January 9, 2010. His parents are Val & the late Bill Peisen, grandparents are George & the late Joann Peisen, and Joe & Derrelene Peisen and the late Ann Peisen . . .

Saw Pattie Rosenlund and Rachelle Cervantes when they were out and about on lunch hour from Easter Seals . . .

Had lots of fun visiting (separately?) with Cony DoVale, her hubby Dr. Joao DoVale, Deitrah Davis, Barbara Guerra, and sis-in-law Keesha Zey . . .

Though the football game wasn’t much fun for us Texas fans, I had fun visiting with Dr. Armando Moncada — found out that it’s true — his home country of Nicaragua is absolutely beautiful. And some day I will again see a beautiful football game . . .

Ditto the fun chats with Kathy Mills, Darda Cardenas, Kathe Tavarez, Sue Martin, and Gay Hill. Saw Andy Hill, who is a trivia buff along with me . . .

Saw Karen Hunke on her way back from working out, and had more fun talk with her, Colleen Hook, Trudie Abbott, Sandra Frost, Frances Metcalf, Marilyn Hawkins, and Pam Moore, who is very good at moving things around! Big things, like furniture and so forth . . .

Don’t know if they had much fun with me, but I really appreciate Christine Tucker, Kay Lynn Norman, and Dr. Cayetano Barrera . . .

Had phone (as well as face-to-face) talk with Sandra Bleakney, who just celebrated her birthday, Maria Teresa Garza, Kay Moffitt, Marilyn Moffitt, and Anabel Cotter . . .

Big event this Saturday, the 23rd — according to the IMAS Guild President Norma Woolsey, none of you should forget to go to the Guild’s annual rummage sale starting at 9 on Saturday at the International Museum of Art and Science, 1900 Nolana, McAllen. If you have items to donate, please bring them to the museum between 9 and 5 on Friday so they can be priced . . .

Birthday greetings for yesterday go out to Mary Baucum, Amy Booth, Nancy Browning, Lynda Moore, Ashley Moore, and Ray Sonnee. (Sorry about last week’s birthdays and column — was ill, okay now.)

For today, Feliz Cumpleaños to Aura Salazar, Karen Meadors, and Sylvia Gayle Klein . . .

These folks can celebrate birthdays tomorrow: Sylvia Alanis and Vanessa Eggleston; and I just can’t leave out Kay Moffitt for this Friday, January 22nd . . .

If you are interested in attending Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University, the course will be taught at St. John’s Episcopal Church for 13 weeks, starting Jan. 25 from 6-8 p.m. The course will be facilitated by Mark Browning. Call the church office at 687-6191 for more info on getting yourself out of debt!

And speaking of the church, good wishes of mine go out to these good people for doing good things: Jeanne Blackburn, Joe Fletcher, Flo Henderson, Charles LaGrange, Jorge Rojas, Deborah Case Kryzak, and Jay Glenn . . .

Note to all readers: the following phone number is not the newspaper’s phone number; it is a number just for this column. Call in your “I See You” news to 686-8056, or mail to the Town Crier. Remember, at least one week ahead!
