The Pharr Literacy Project & Cultural Arts Center is proud to bring back the family play A BIRD BRAINS CHRISTMAS. Bring the whole family to enjoy this entertaining, educational and spirited play with song and dance and a Christmas twist.
Written and directed by screen actor guild member Pedro Garcia, our story follows Fernando the Great Kiskadee, a colorful bird who lives in the Rio Grande Valley. The anxious Fernando is about to embark on a treacherous journey when his caring friends, Wanda, the great North American mockingbird from Arkansas and Chispita, the local buffed bellied hummingbird, help him realize that love abounds and abounds right here in the RGV.
The story is set in Pharr, Texas on the Christmas Morning of 2004, the year of a miraculous snowfall that hadnít occurred in this region in nearly 100 years. A BIRD BRAINS CHRISTMAS will surely warm your heart with original lyrics, melodies and arraignments by Carlos Gonzalez, Eddie De La Garza and Pedro Garcia.
Performances will be held from December 10 thru December 19, Fridays at 6:30 p.m., Saturdays at 3 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. and Sundays at 3 p.m. Tickets are $5 dollars and can be purchased in advance by calling 956-821-7702 or at the box office one hour before show time, depending on availability. The one-act play performed by valley talent will show at The Pharr Literacy Project Community Theatre, 203 W. Park Ave. Pharr.
