Bette & John Fasano of Weslaco are to be doubly congratulated as grandparents for welcoming two new grandbabies within one month. Their son and daughter-in-law, Rocco & Kelly Fasano of Weslaco, welcomed their first child, Jacob “Jack” Rocco, into their family on June 7, 2010 . . .

Then Bette & John’s other son and daughter-in-law, Jason & Rebekah Fasano of Edinburg, welcomed their second child, Jenna Delilah, on July 1, 2010. Little Jenna was determined to arrive whether or not a hurricane was closing in. Ruth Fasano of Donna is the proud great-grandmother of these new babies . . .

Grandparental congrats are also due Libby & Jim Brown of McAllen. Their daughter and son-in-law, Corinne & Josh Whittemore of Virginia Beach, Virginia, welcomed their first child, daughter Elizabeth Marie, born July 8, 2010. Dad Josh is serving in the Navy, deployed on the USS Normandy, so he will personally greet his baby by Christmas!

Had a fun visit with Caroline Moore, and found out from her husband Ray that she is a member of “Knit Wits” — a group of knitters who craft little caps for new babies in need. Hopefully, I spelled the name of their kind, skilled group correctly!

Saw Celine Cozad, who is also looking forward to granddaughter Sarah Cozad’s upcoming wedding. And luckily for families now, modern brides are so organized that they don’t leave much for the rest of us to do!

Met Dee Dee Adame, who had on a pair of really cute black “flower” sandals, while looking summery and cool, quite a feat nowadays . . .

Sis Nancy Cosby took one of her visiting grandsons to see the movie “Despicable Me” last week, and little Eli couldn’t wait to tell me about minions. In case you are not in the know, only bad people have minions — good people have helpers . . .
