If you read last week’s Town Crier headline story, “Master Teacher,” about Wes Kittleman, you might have discovered, as I did, many fun interesting facts about his life. However, I already knew that he was a gifted math tutor due to my children. Thanks for the memories Mr. Kittleman, not to mention the better grades . . .
Also, Mark Noe’s column on naming hurricanes was pretty funny — aren’t we just hoping that a Hurricane Noah won’t splash in and make us wish we’d been constructing an ark?
Understand that Kathe & Hiram Tavarez are among the couples who have had fun with visiting children and grandchildren. Your columnist tends to collapse in a heap when those cherished visits are done, but that’s just me!
No fair on that grandchildren thing with Kay & Jim Moffitt, because they have so many more than most of us!
Saw Ann & Murray Moore who were off to have a mother-daughter evening out, after checking out floodways and such . . .
Talked to Pam Moore, who had checked out some of the waters herself, along with Harriette West. Pam has my current gratitude for finishing my closet beautifully! Here’s to Elfa shelving . . .
Had a quick chat with Rosa Valencia, who was, not surprisingly, busy, busy, busy. Her efficiency and her efficient office make life easier, though . . .
Saw Judy Bland, who is looking forward to granddaughter Sarah Cozad’s September wedding . . .
Sherry Gossett and Paula Moxley always agree that playing bridge is way fun, and Candie Wicker would probably have had more fun if her partner had had a clue about the mysteries of bidding. (Notice that this columnist will not talk ugly about anyone other than herself!)
Saw Kathleen & Jack Vinger last week when we were enjoying a wonderful meal at Wild Fork at South Padre Island. Their tiramisu is the best . . .
Had a visit with Alma de la Garza, who was fresh off the domino tables — canasta, too! Her group has so much fun . . .
Talked to both Pattie Rosenlund and Marilyn Fox at Easter Seals and the new date for their Power of the Purse fundraiser will be August 24, 2010, a Tuesday evening. So you ladies can plan on updating your handbag collection, or you gentlemen can purchase a handbag for your favorite ladies . . .
A thank you is in order for Elsa Casas at the Frost Bank on Ridge Road, for her “gold medallion” help . . .
Check out fabulous Doncaster fall fashions at my home for the next few days, by calling 686-8056 . . .
Happy birthday for today to Josie Picou and Joseph Uribe . . .
For tomorrow, birthday cheer is wished to Debbie Crane Aliseda, Cullen Looney, Eloy Marroquin, Ann MaNallen-Makowski, and Patty Sanchez . . .
Note to all readers: the following phone number is not the newspaper’s phone number; it is a number just for this column. Call in your “I See You” news to 686-8056, or mail to the Town Crier. Remember, at least one week ahead!
