The ECISD’s Optional Extended Week/State Compensatory Education (OEW/SCE) Program for third, fourth and fifth graders is scheduled to begin on Saturday, Jan. 23, 2010  at six elementary school sites and run through Saturday, April 24th.

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 who are identified  as “likely of not to be promoted to the next grade level for the succeeding school year” because they do not meet the district standards or policies for academic achievement or demonstrated proficiency of the subject matter of the course or grade level.

Students in grades 3, 4 and 5 needing assistance are being assigned to one of the six elementary campuses below.??San Carlos Elementary – for Esparza, JFK, and Betts

Lee Elementary – for Canterbury, Cavazos, Freddy Gonzalez, and De la Vina

Avila Elementary – for Guerra, Brewster, Hargill, and Villarreal?Escandon Elementary – for Cano-Gonzalez, Jefferson, LBJ, and Travis?Monte Cristo Elementary – for Austin, Eisenhower, and Lincoln?Zavala Elementary – for Magee, Trevino, and Truman

Program hours for elementary students will be from 8:15 a.m. to 1 p.m. Transportation, breakfast and lunch will be available for students participating in this program.
