New baby congratulations are in order for Drs. Brook & Aaron Unterbrink of McAllen, whose second son, Guy Neely, was born on July 10, 2010. This little fellow was welcomed into the family by his big brother, Jack Naylor, and grandparents Bobette & Keith Naylor, the late Bernard Unterbrink, and Diane & Orville Schonefeld, all of Rivera . . .

And an interesting side note for fishermen is that Keith & Bobette Naylor are the proprietors of a quaint, renovated 1950s church and schoolhouse on Baffin Bay, which sleeps six. For more information about Little Bethel…Bungalow on the Bay, check it out at bobettenn@hotmail.com. Guided fishing trips are also available . . .

Congratulations to Thomas Caballero of Troop 583 in McAllen, who received his Eagle Scout award on July 21st. This is the highest award attainable in Boy Scouting, and something to be proud of for a lifetime. Thomas’s parents are Lourdes & Mario Caballero . . .

While shopping at Oh Kay’s recently, I received great service from Judy Quintana. Unfortunately for me and mine, a good stock of the citrus flavored candy was on hand — a quickly depleted stock!

Saw Eloy Treviño, who welcomed me to Illusions in French, no less! Then had a long visit with Steve Dershem, who made me feel fantastique, as well as blonder!

And speaking of feeling fantastique, had a great massage with Connie Gaedert . . .

Had a very fun visit with Candie Wicker, who not only can speak blonde, but comes up with appropriate nicknames such as Lamb Chop . . .

Our out of town relatives wanted to try The Patio on Guerra for a birthday dinner, and owner Art Guerra wowed the crowd by engineering a heavenly dessert sampler, complete with candles, of course. Not to suggest that Art actually cooked the desserts, but he certainly gets kudos for presentation . . .
