The International Museum of Art & Science invites you to visit the annual Christmas Tree Forest now on display through Jan. 2, 2011.
This year’s theme is “Christmas at the Movies” and the Welcome Pavilion has been transformed into a motion picture forest filled with a total of 27 superbly decorated trees inspired by favorite movies and movie stars.
For over 30 years IMAS has hosted the Christmas Tree Forest which was birthed by the Junior League of McAllen, and continued annually by the IMAS Guild. This exhibit is one of very few that are totally derived from community input and contribution, and each year some of the Rio Grande Valley’s most talented crafters put their creative skills to the test to bring this annual public display to life.
Using only handmade materials, all participants have dedicated ample time and effort into decorating their trees. From The Wizard of Oz to Harry Potter, to Legally Blond and a tree dedicated to the one and only Johnny Depp, this year’s forest is a must-see!
IMAS would like to thank all of the participating schools, businesses and organizations who participated in the 2010 Christmas Tree Forest.
